I wanted to get my little boys a play mat to play with their trains on. I looked at some carpet ones that had a certain character theme. The prices were way too high for what they were. I considered generic ones too. But my boys have 2 different sized train sets, and I know they would rather do their own thing than lay out the tracks the way they are printed on a mat anyway. This was the perfect solution! It is very inexpensive for the size and looks like grass. We can even cut out blue felt and lay it where they want water. Size, character, type of track doesn’t matter. And when they aren’t playing with it, I can just roll it up and put it in the closet. Perfect.

I haven’t unrolled it yet, so I do not know about durability- No rubber backing, just the fiber mat-but heavy construction – will take a while to get it to stay flat, after unrolling it. Should be fine for the patio area with moderate traffic.
